Shopify: Adding custom checkout page for Synchrony

This procedure is used when the Synchrony Buy modal isn't appearing on your site.  Some Shopify themes don't display the Synchrony Buy modal automatically and a custom checkout page must be added.  

In order to add the Synchrony financing option to your Checkout page, you will need to create a new page template.

• Log in to the Shopify Admin console.
• Click Online store > Themes, and then click Customize.

• Create a new page template. From the Home page drop down, click Pages and select Create template.

• Name the new template “Synchrony”, Based on Default page, and select Create Template.

• Make sure the main elements of the template are visible and remove any additional widgets/extra formatting.

• Click the Save button in the top right corner.
• On the Synchrony Checkout page editor, change the Theme template to the Synchrony template you created in the steps above and click Save.

• Add a sample item to the cart and go to checkout. You should see the Synchrony Financing - Pay Over Time option. This verifies it is set up correctly.
